Rosie, registered as McKenzie River’s Red, White, N Malibu, is a standout Australian Cattle Dog with a pedigree rooted in performance, conformation, and natural working instinct. Since joining our program in June 2021 at just one year old, Rosie has proven herself to be driven, athletic and remarkably versatile dog with a confident, sweet disposition.
Her lineage speaks to generations of thoughtful breeding. Rosie is sired by Rocky Callahan, a red mottled male known for his strength and focus, and grandson of Destiny’s Red Cowboy and Kamree’s Red Cowgirl— both respected for producing biddable hard-working dogs. Her dam, Bob’s In Loving Memory, adds further depth with descendants of AKC champions like CH Smith’s Caught Ya Lookin and CH Flash’s Buckaroo’s Wild Billy, known for producing intelligent, stable, and structurally sound offspring.
Rosie brings these genetics to life. She has a lovely blend of handler responsiveness and independent confidence, making her a joy to train and a reliable working partner. She has been tested on sheep and has shown herself to be fair, steady, and instinctive around livestock. Outside of herding, she thrives in performance settings, particularly nose work detection, where she uses her sharp mind and powerful scenting ability to locate target odors with precision and enthusiasm. Her drive and focus in scent detection work demonstrate yet another layer of her versatility and intelligence.
Rosie regularly participates in training demonstrations and live events, where she not only showcases her skills but also helps educates the public about the Australian Cattle Dog’s unique capabilities. Whether she’s herding, detecting scent, or engaging in other performance or obedience work, she brings consistency and heart to everything she does.
When the work is done, Rosie easily settles into a more playful role. She’s known for her silly, affectionate personality and often entertains herself with a favorite toy or chew. She transitions seamlessly from serious working dog to beloved companion— proof of the exceptional balance we strive to produce in our program.
Rosie is a cornerstone of our breeding and training efforts. She reflects the very best of what the Australian Cattle Dog has to offer: loyal, intelligent, driven, and endlessly willing to work in partnership with her people.
