At Wildcard Cattle Dogs, our mission is to preserve and advance the true working spirit of the Australian Cattle Dog while producing companions who thrive in both active homes and performance venues. We are a small, dedicated kennel based in Crossville, Tennessee, committed to raising litters with care, purpose, and transparency. Since 2015, we have also been professional dog trainers serving our local community, which gives us a deep, hands-on understanding of behavior, structure, and drive that guides our breeding program.

Our passion for preserving the Australian Cattle Dog comes from a respect for its origins: a rugged, intelligent, and courageous working dog bred to handle the most demanding conditions. In today’s world, it’s easy for these qualities to be diluted—but we believe they’re worth protecting. By keeping true to the breed’s history and purpose, we ensure future generations of Cattle Dogs remain capable, versatile partners who can excel in both work and sport while still being loyal, devoted family companions.

Every Wildcard puppy is raised in our home using the Avidog program, which includes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) to give them a strong foundation for confidence, problem-solving, and resilience. Puppies are exposed to safe socialization opportunities, enrichment, and handling, setting them up for success in a wide variety of future roles. Health and integrity are central to our philosophy. All of our dogs are fully health tested through OFA, Embark DNA, CAER eye exams, and BAER hearing testing, and we carefully select pairings that balance type, temperament, and genetic diversity.

We take pride in producing dogs who are not only beautiful examples of the breed but also driven, stable, and capable partners for herding, sport, and family life.
